It was about 10 years ago may be at the UW. He was in great form (so to speak) He did a Q & A with pre prepared questions because it takes him for ever to communicate. But to sit there and look at this amazing intellect locked in this body made me cry. Even now it makes me cry. I will cry when he dies as I cried when Bertrand Russell died.
We are so fortunate to share time and space with such as Stephen Hawking. An amazing mind. I'm also interested in the thinking of another physicist, Amit Goswami. Have you heard of him? He's a prolific writer and has appeared on PBS. He's interested in quantum physics and consciousness - interesting stuff. One of his recent books is "God is Not Dead." If you haven't read any of his works, you might enjoy 'em.

Muriel and I had the good fortune to attend a lecture by S.H. on Black Holes. It was a never to be forgotten experience.
